Lagos transportation infrastructure set to transform -Dabiri

Transport infrastructure in Lagos State would transform to one that eases the daily commute of the average Lagosian in year 2018.

Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Abiodun Dabiri, gave this assurance in his Christmas and New Year message, tagged “A message of Hope for 2018”.

Engr. Dabiri said with about 820 buses expected before the second half of year 2018, new bus termini and bus shelters planned to be built and completed within the year, the transportation landscape will change to one that gives more access to transportation infrastructure in the state.

He explained that implementing the projects may cause inconveniences to the people but assured “after the dark tunnel comes the glorious light.”

The LAMATA helmsman appealed to Lagosians to key into the vision of multimodal integrated transport system of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. AkinwunmiAmbode, saying when fully implemented, commuting in Lagos would be comparable to transport system available in Europe with huge opportunity for employment and growth of the economy.

He assured of the commitment of Governor AkinwunmiAmbode to complete the Blue Line rail project and see it operational for the benefit of the people and upliftment of the state’s economic growth.

Engr. Dabiri enjoined Lagosians to celebrate with moderation and appealed against drunk driving, which might lead to road mishap and loss of property and lives.

He urged Lagosians to resolve to do what is right that as the year 2018 beckons so that we could move forward as a people united for the purpose of uplifting our environment and state.
