Despite the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic on businesses around the world, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc said it has seen improved performance.
The bank noted that this improved performance was made possible through its digital lending solutions, one of which is its ‘Click Credit.
Click Credit is an Instant Loan Product that is fully automated end to end and is enabled on all the bank’s digital channels, USSD, Leo WhatsApp and Facebook, Mobile Banking and Internet Banking. It is available to both salary and non-salary account holder.
The bank’s customers can get a loan of up to N5 million in one minute at an interest rate of 19 per cent monthly and pay back easily over 12 months.
Speaking during a Virtual Media Parley with UBA’s Group Head, Retail Liabilities, Ogechi Altraide, with over 125 journalists across Africa in attendance, she said, “What we have done as a bank is to invest heavily on our digital platform. We have seen UBA’s performance grow, instead of seeing our performance drop.
On the bank’s support to Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs), she said, “at UBA, we recognize that SMEs are important to the growth of any economy and our proposition to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) business is positioned to support them. The access is at no cost to our customers. We give them access to information to help them grow their business, and we offer access to new market”.
She however, disclosed that bank currently has over 50, 000 beneficiaries of the Click Credit product, adding that the bank’s agency banking is very well spread.
Speaking further, she noted that as customer centric solution in retail solution, UBA is currently improving for better service as customer.
